ELEMENTARY MUSIC TEACHER & 5TH GRADE BAND DIRECTOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

The candidate will bring interest, excitement, and enthusiasm for music through energetic lessons, music exploration, and a palpable love of music. The teacher should promote music in a way that brings children to find music they enjoy, helps regulate their emotions, and gives them a desire to have music in their lives.

 

The candidate will collaborate with the district music staff in implementing activities for music students within Saline Area Schools. The candidate will be specifically assigned to Heritage School (grades 4-5) and Saline Middle School. They will lead all 4th grade general music classes and 5th grade woodwind classes, be responsible for the maintenance and care of instruments, and prepare/conduct regular performances.

Exemplary, regular, and predictable attendance is essential in this position. Employee must be physically present and alert. Employee must have an independent method of transportation to and from work. Candidate must have experience in standard office and school building environments. EQUIPMENT

Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, copy and fax machines, and telephones.

 

TRAVEL

Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. This position may require daily travel between different locations.
