JOB DESCRIPTION

 

The Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources reports to the Superintendent and is part of the CORE Team.  They are an essential component of the SAS leadership team in the District’s efforts to achieve educational excellence for all students. They work collaboratively with district leaders, building leaders, and all staff to ensure that students are provided with an optimal education with the least restrictive learning environment.  The Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources leads the HR team in the day to day operations responsible for payroll, benefits, staff attendance and guest teacher management, staffing, hiring, and each employee’s personnel file, employment cycle and professional matters.  They provide leadership to district administrators and department in all areas relating to personnel, contract administration, and risk management. They help lead the District’s collective bargaining efforts and the implementation of all collective bargaining agreements and union matters. They assist the Superintendent in supervising district-wide operations, organizational systems and maintaining a high level of accountability to enhance a positive working culture.
